After many many many months of no blog posts, just want to let anyway who may still be checking that yes we are still living it up in Sydney.  We recently took a 2 week holiday to China!  Below is a photo of a bell tower in the centre of the ancient capital city Xi'an.

Joanne's New Obsession

LAKSA!  I can't get enough of this spicy, coconut milk soap with tofu, noodles, and vegetables. On any given day a bowl of laksa is great - doesn't matter if its raining, or 100 degrees outside.   I have now tried numerous laksa places in the city including, Laksa King (41/43 Erskine Street), Jimmy's Recipe (500 George Street), The Old Fitzroy Hotel (129 Dowling Street), Lee's Malaysian (1 Hunter Street), and some place in North Sydney... but the best laksa in Sydney by far is Malay Chinese Takeaway (58 Hunter Street). The bowl is huge and it has just the right amount of spice. Below is a picture of the laksa from Malay Chinese Takeaway - the entire bowl was eventually licked clean.



Summer in the City

Sydney is by far one of the best cities to be in during the summer time.  The number of outdoor activities is endless.  Sunsets are beautiful, the city skyline is breath taking, and the beach is a quick ferry, bus, or rail away. Recently we saw Moneyball at the St. George cinema in the botanical gardens. The beers, cocktails, food, and views are absolutely fantastic.  How are we ever going to leave?
